Today, the person who commissioned me to paint a tall painting came to my studio… I had painted three, so he would have a choice. He chose a tall one, and unexpectedly, a square one! I am a lucky girl, and feel very grateful.

  1. Dear Clothylde
It was my brother-in-law who commissioned these paintings of Sandsend and Ravenscar. I am in New Zealand and there is one of your calendars on the wall here which is lovely. I like your work very much, especially the beech tree and the bluebell wood, also “Mermaid” which you say is not in your current style, it’s a bit like Hokusai. I would like to have met you!
    Friendly greetings from

    • Dear Elizabeth, thank you for your comments. Hokusai truly was master of the wave. I did meet a very nice man from New Zealand yesterday, who said he really liked my work and has one of my calendar on his wall. I am unlikely to go to NZ, but if you come to England, it would be good to meet you. Best wishes, Clothylde.

    • Hello Sarah. All my oil paintings of Ravenscar have been sold, but I can take on commissions, and I do have miniature watercolour paintings. I’ve emailed you. Thank you for liking my work!
