Who I am

My website address is: https://www.clothylde.com. My name is Clothylde Vergnes. I am an independent self employed artist, living on the North Yorkshire coast, specialising in landscape painting.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Contract: The processing of personal data is necessary for me to fulfill my contractual obligations with you (i.e. you are purchasing products from me) or because you have asked me to do something before entering into a contract (i.e. you have asked me to send you a quote, or a design, or further information about my products and services).

Consent: Clear consent has been given for me to process your personal data for a specific purpose (e.g. you have given your clear consent for me to include your personal data to send you promotional and marketing communications).
Please Note: I will always rely on formal consent being given as the basis for processing personal data for promotional and marketing communications by whatever media I use.
Customers have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Where such consent has been given for a specific purpose (e.g. promotional and marketing communications), I will cease to process data after consent is withdrawn.

Legal Obligation: I may need to process personal data to enable me to comply with UK law and regulatory requirements.

Legitimate Interest: I need to process personal data to enable me to meet my commercially legitimate interests, for example:
Fulfilling orders, supplying goods and/or services to customers.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.If you provide personal information in your comment such as a phone number, this may be edited out so it does not appear in your comment. Most general comments will be published. Specific comments or requests will be responded to by email.

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

Your contact information is kept on this website if you leave a comment. It may also be kept on paper if you have ordered or commissioned a painting.
